Wow ... $70 for a half marathon?  Is that what the going rate is for these things now?  If so then it makes the triathlon race fees look reasonable given the increased level of difficulty in putting on a swim, bike and run vs. just a run.

Either way, I will skip this one as I will probably just earn my turkey by running the Atlanta Track Club half-mary on Thanksgiving Day.

I was going to post the same thing.  Just saw this last night, and I've already convinced 2 friends to do it with me.  Will definitely be signing up while it's still only $55.  I think Oct 4 sounds like perfect timing for a half.

I'm trying to figure out how you can tell the below with a run from Brookhaven to Perimeter out and back.....

"The 13.1™ Atlanta course goes by so many interesting and historic sites that it’s a “city tour on foot”. Glad to see there is another option out there though.

I think the race was originally supposed to go through town, because they mention post race festivities at Underground on one page, and at Oglethorpe on another

The original notice I saw on this race had it starting in Brookhaven and following the Peachtree route , then going through town and finishing at Turner Field.  Basically the 2nd half of the Olympic Marathon with a little adjustment downtown.

This new course looks OK I guess.  I am doing it with some folks from our Tri group...this will be a first Half for a couple of them.

I think this is a pretty uninspired course but will most likely do the race as I need a Fall 1/2 to get me running.

I just got an email that gives a discount code of 131PAST that will give you a race fee of $42 till 7/31 so that isn't a bad price. Wonder if you can mail the registration and use the discount code to avoid online fee?

I emailed the race staff yesterday and they said you can mail in the form & write the 131PAST code on it & only pay the $42 before 7/31. It'll save you another $3 or 4 in online processing fees. Not much and maybe it is just me but those online processing fees really tick me off.

They were almost an extra $40 on top of the IM fee.

Just about to sign up for this when I realized the date... Lake Lanier Tri take priority! Maybe next year, we need something like a "Rock and Roll' half marathon here!
Cool
