Well, over 10% of the entrants are in my age group. Most are a part of Team Brick. I could be in for a long day.

I'll shoot for a top 10 in my AG. (There's 11 entered so far).

I was signed up and planning to participate, but I broke my wrist 2 weeks ago, so I'm out.  Cry

Since I'm on the Bricks Team, I'll still be there, but in a "volunteer" capacity.  I'll be the one running around with all of the metal hanging out of his arm (external fixator).

That sucks. Sorry to hear about your injury.

I hope you heal up fast.

For anybody that's local to Smyrna:

Are there any other hotels there besides the Best Western. They are booked. Before I book something in Dover I figured I would see if the locals have any recommendations.

Thanks for your help.

Smyrna is pretty small, so there aren't many options for hotels.  Dover is only 10-15 minutes south, so it's a quick drive if you end up there.  Plus you have more options for food.

Good Luck

How was this race last year (old thread).  I just found the 2010 event and was thinking of signing up for it.

The event was great. It was small....about 125 people. The guys running it were well organized and everything was marked well. Its a very family friendly tri with a beach for kids to play on with the transition zone right there. The swim was a beach start in waves. The bike was pretty straightforward and was pretty flat. The run had a few small inclines but nothing too bad. All in all I personally had a good time. The post race refreshments (for fans and racers) was not too shabby either. I don't think you will be disappointed, especially if you have not done many triathlons

Just as last year's, this was another great event.

Although my times sucked due to lack of training for the past 3 weeks, it was still a nice local tri and everyone seemed to have a good time.
