Hi everybody! Congrats to all of you who made your goals! It's a great feeling, isn't it? I did actually make mine! I just couldn't get online until today (see my log for the list of excuses)! I'll be taking the pic tonight and it'll get posted tonight or tomorrow. The sig should be in place.

Now if anyone can figure out some goods indigenous to Colorado that Bear might appreciate in LA (ie, NOT SNOW), I could really use some ideas.

Don't drink. Sorry.

Don't suggest Rocky Mountain oysters either, as someone said, that's just nuts!

Coors is PISS! I would never disdain my beautiful state in that way. I think Colorado said it's piece about Coors Beer when we elected Ken Salazar ("Anyone who calls that beer ain't fit fer the Senate, that's fer sure!" I offered to send a sampler from one of our many top quality micro-breweries, but Bear doesn't drink. Alcohol's out.... Any other ideas?

Send him a lift ticket to Crested Butte -- best kept secret in Colorado in my opinion. This may also sound lame, but go to the mint and get him a proof set of Colorado quarters.

OK, because Colorado seems to lack nonalcoholic, nontesticular indigenous products readily available for wage-settling export, I have offered her a settlement, which she has fearlessly accepted. Never one to back down from a challenge, this Kim hosschick.

I have offered to forego my goody basket in exchange for a donation in my name which she will make to the American Diabetes Association for the Tour de Cure ride in which she is participating in June. The catch (there's always a catch) is that she must switch to the 75-mile ride rather than the 50-miler she originally planeed. No big deal you say, what's another 25 miles? Look at the elevation chart and see how much more CLIMBING is involved in the longer ride:

Would love to, but I doubt my family would want to plan their summer vacation around it.Maybe some of those other Colorado hosschicks (OVETTA!) might be interested.

Yeah, cow, 40 miles of downhills, and they promise great views from the top!

My goal was 400, and my total was 469.  Last time I checked 469 is more then 400.  :-)

Or did the 100 miles on the blue and purple bike not count????  I didn't read anything in the rules about miles on red bikes being only ones that count.

{{{{sigh}}}} Another one who didn't comprehend...

The challenge was for the three week period beginning April 10 andending April 30.

Through April 9, you had 84.84 miles registered in your log. Through April 30, you had 469.85.

469.85-84.84=385.01 miles that you rode during the challenge time period. Last time I checked, 385.01<400.

mea culpa, I understood but I thought the 469 was the 3 week period.  Maybe I need to look at my logs more carefully.  Grrrrrrr, I could have easily ridden 15 miles on Friday.  Saturday was a washout.

So is there a May challenge?

Hey, it was an honest mistake and 469 miles in one month is pretty damn studly. Therefore, I'm making an executive decision and proclaiming you a stud (I'll put an asterisk to keep the Large and Growly One happy).

It's a book I had when I was a kid "The Large and Growly Bear". My sister and I loved that book, but I guess no one else had it because no one gets the references I make to it....

How about the Medium and Growly One?
