Everyone says you always remember your first time. To make sure I didn't forget I wrote two lengthy blog posts about my journey to my first race and about race day. Today definitely affected me more/differently than I expected it would so I had to write.

Part one http://www.juddmansee.com/blog/?p=298
Part two http://www.juddmansee.com/blog/?p=310

Quick summary is 100/450 overall, 23/53 M3539. 800m @ 1:43/100. 12.3 miles rolling hills @ 19.3 mph. 3.2 miles at 8:08/mile.

I've learned so much random info from these forums. There's no way my race would have gone as smoothly as it did without everything I've learned here. Thanks all!

Congrats! Great report and great tri. Sounds like it was quite a race.
So, I assume that since you are mulling over upgrades, you are going to continue? Soudned like you had doubts during the run!

It's the following day and I'm back on the tri wagon again. The joy of training and the satisfaction at completing the race overcame the doubts generated by pained, heavy legs.Tomorrow I will start bike shopping to replace this 13 year old beast!

Congratulations! I also finished my first triathlon yesterday. What an awesome feeling it is! You fully deserve that new bike!
