Comments: lots of shoving thru first turn, it was a little chaotic and I even stopped a few times rather than risk a nose kick, but went well after I found my rhythm and got out of the mass What would you do differently?: dolphin entry and exit, stay far to the outside Transition 1
Comments: this was along run to T1, I am not concerned about getting shoes on and pushing the bike to MOUNT area in this kind of sorta loose gravel, however, I understand the advantage of regular conditions. At this point, I rather lose 5 secs but be ready to pedal hard. What would you do differently?: learn to jump mount bike, probably would have been nice to have a bicket of water to wash gravel off - but who knew? Bike
Comments: this was a good ride, it went well, although Gulf to Bay bridge in CLW took a lot out of me at the beginning. Second large brisge was fine. I started fuzzing around with my Garmin on the final stretch and dropped it - I had to turn around to get it and lost probably 1 minute. Note to self: get the Garmin 310XT ASAP and forget about toying with this sucka. What would you do differently?: 1 - stop playing with Garmoin - either get the fixed mount and forget it, or secure it in a pocket with a clip. Transition 2
Comments: avg T2, quick change into all I needed, everything was setup correctly What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: felt miserable, dropped my 30th fastest bike to 51st run - this took my overall position to 38, would have stayed in the 30th place with a 25:30 run, that's one min per mile off (8:00 pace), I felt better once we hit the pavement but that was the last stretch What would you do differently?: 1. speed - need to bring my pace to around 8 min 2. practice running in trails and sand. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: the run - too slow, starting with the loose sand and not hitting any solid ground until the last few meters Event comments: very good organization - on time, quick results postings, course was challenging, especially the bike with bridges and many corners, and the run on sand. The temp and weather were perfect. I am signing up for 2010 even if I turn it into an OLYMPIC dist year. Last updated: 2009-06-01 12:00 AM

3:30 AM wakeup call with 1 hr drive to race, got there pretty early and setup T nocely. Nutrition: protein shake with a few of my supplements and multivit.
at race site: after setup I chatted with a couple of racers, ate some nuts and my other supplemenst.
stretch legs and arms, get into water and swim some 200 mtr,
I forgot to check for my bike location on entry into T1, which cause a little disorientation at entry but didn't have much problem finding my spot afterall.
