Total Time = 2h 51m 42s
Overall Rank = 172/228
Age Group = 45-49
Age Group Rank = 4/10
Pre-race routine:

Parked my car, and lugged my crap the half mile to the transition area. Set my stuff up and hung out..the one bad thing about this race..no onsite parking.
Event warmup:

swam about 25yds
Swim
  • 27m 7s
  • 1760 yards
  • 01m 32s / 100 yards
Comments:

Had to dodge a few people at start and ended up swimming neck and neck with another girl who kept cutting over me at the turn boueys.
What would you do differently?:

Not much did the best I could
Transition 1
  • 04m 15s
Comments:

T1 sucked. I couldn't get my wetsuit off for the life of me. Got stuck on one arm. Got stuck on my feet. I was ready to rip it off. I usually swim in a swim suit and then throw bike shorts and bike top on. I need to change this plan. It usually works but not today. Felt like I was a three year old trying to put my clothes on!
What would you do differently?:

dress differently..swim and bike neked..I don't know anything other than what I did today!

ranking 7ag 200overall..yikes!!
Bike
  • 1h 21m 27s
  • 24.2 miles
  • 17.83 mile/hr
Comments:

Roads are somewhat rough. Lots of sand patches from recent rains. Speedbummps coming out of the camp are a royal pita..almost lost my aerobottle..couldn't save the spongey thing. Had one girl from my AG pass me! boo.
What would you do differently?:

Not much, secure the water bottle next time thats for damn sure! I did the best I could, hydrated well and GUed myself up good. Led to an awesome feeling run!
Transition 2
  • 01m 46s
Comments:

T2 went MUCH better. threw my helmut and cleats off; threw my shoes on and I was off..
What would you do differently?:

nothing

Run
  • 57m 4s
  • 6.5 miles
  • 08m 47s  min/mile
Comments:

After I got my legs back in the first half mile, I felt AWESOME!! Caught the AGer that passed me on the bike and blew through every water station!
What would you do differently?:

Other than run like I stole something there is really nothing I would change. I had gas in the tank to pass for people going through the paths on the final stretch. Hella lot better than last years suffer run!
Post race
Warm down:

Met up with Rob and his wife and chatted with them a bit. Funny, Rob walked away to help some dude that looked very dazed and confused and his wife asked how I knew him. I told her BT and she looked at me with a blank stare..and said whats that. Jokingly I said oh oops he didn't tell you about that place! We had a good chuckle over it.

Later grabbed some food that I never felt like eating, and then dunked collected my things and took the trek back to my car.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Other than grow a set of gills, learn to bike my arse off and run like I stole something... nada

Event comments:

I like the smallness and the flatness of this race. If it hadn't been a grand prix event this year with about 4 tri teams showing up, I might have actually placed AG.

Rock on! Hey, 4:15 in T1 isn't bad at all...for IMs... Just tell people you are in training for the bigger races.

Uh, x2 on the tri-getup for Timberman. Something VERY bright. Erica and I have to know who to cheer for after an untold number of vanilla vodkas and glasses of wine... LOL!
