Swim
Comments: Bad swim, really bad swim. Water was pretty warm with the wetsuit on could feel myself heating up in it. I ignored the swim training, and lost a lot of fitness because of it so that I could concentrate on improving the other two areas (big mistake). So I paid for it both in time and feeling fatigued before other two events even started What would you do differently?: My training has to be consistent across all three events Transition 1
What would you do differently?: Wouldn't forget the cycling gloves Bike
Comments: Old Stage Coach road was a killer. Many, many people walking their bikes, including me for about a 1/4 of a mile near the top of hill. What would you do differently?: More hill training, more strength training to power through the tough hills Transition 2
Run
Comments: Right hamstring cramped up about 2 miles into the run, was able to loosen it up and continued. Ran more than I walked and my pace was better than the HIM in June Post race
Warm down: Walked around 10-15 minutes, followed by stretching at home in the afternoon What limited your ability to perform faster: Poor training on the swim and not enough hill training on the bike. This was also the first tri at altitude for me (even though I have been training and living at this altitude) Event comments: Will definitely do this race again next year. They also have a long course (70.3 race) that I will be training for as well which happens later in August Last updated: 2009-05-30 12:00 AM

Ate 2 bagels with PB, glass of milk, 1/4 cup of raw almonds for breakfast. Ate 1 hammer goo 20 min before race. Put two bottles of GU brew on the bike and 6 GU gels in a squeeze bottle (best idea ever)
Light stretching only pre-swim
