Pre-race routine:

Arrived at the transition to find out that the order of the race had been changed. This required setting up my stuff a little differently. The bike was first, then swim, then run.
Event warmup:

Since the bike was going to be first I rode some laps in the parking lot to try and loosen up.
Swim
  • 00m
  • 400 yards
  • / 100 yards
Comments:

There where not split times at this race.
What would you do differently?:

I would not dive in as early and scrap all the skin of off my knee cap on the rocky bottom.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

T1 was the transition from the bike to the swim. This went pretty good. I just dropped off my bike and grabbed my goggles.
Bike
  • 00m
  • 9 miles
  • 0.00 mile/hr
What would you do differently?:

Wouldn't have gone for a 30 mile ride the day before the race. I think that took some out of me.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

T2 was the transition from the swim to the run. This went good other than by the time I got to my shoes my knee was bleed all over.
Run
  • 00m
  • 1 miles
  •  min/mile
Comments:

The run ended up sucking for me. I went out felling really good with a great pace. Had a couple of guys in front of me that I could see. I ended up following them which ended being a mistake because some kid in the park moved the direction arrows and we ended up missing about 2 miles of the run. When we got to the finish line and the race coordinators realized what had happen it was to late for us to go back.
What would you do differently?:

Ran the right course.
Post race
Warm down:

Grabbed a banana and bagel and cheered on the other finishers.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My bike was not as strong as it was before my 3 month break. I have only been training for about 2 weeks so I need to spend some more time dong hills.

Event comments:

The order of the events where changed at the last minute because of a fair in the park and they wanted to get the bike portion out of the way in order to avoid traffic. The volunteers where kids that knew nothing about the race course so that was frustrating. I will probably do the race again next year since it is local and cheap. Nice Nike shirts.

Age Group: 0/
Overall: 0/102
Performance: Good
Suit: No
Course: The swim start was probably 100 yards from the transition area and not on the smoothest surface. The swim was done after the bike so I did not put on a wetsuit. Didn't really need one after all. The water was warm. The swim went well for me I was able to make up some lost time from the bike.
