Overall Rank = 214/420
Age Group = 40-44
Age Group Rank = 9/23
Pre-race routine:

Got up at 3:45(!) to drive up to the race site. Ate a egg/cheese/bacon wrap from Whataburger lol
Event warmup:

Got to the site early and set up, checked out the swim stage, got marked, set up the transition stage, etc.
Swim
  • 11m 20s
  • 547 yards
  • 02m 04s / 100 yards
Comments:

This is what happens when you take 6 months off swimming to recover from a shoulder injury. At least I know what I need to work on.
What would you do differently?:

Get more swimming in. Need to swim futher in before standing up in the water.
Transition 1
  • 03m 27s
Comments:

There was quite a long path from the swim to the transition stage, so that's where a majority of this time is from. I thought I got in and out of there pretty quick.
Bike
  • 56m 57s
  • 17.6 miles
  • 18.54 mile/hr
Comments:

Had a fantastic ride! Passed a ton of people on the hills. Things were just clicking for me on the bike.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe push it a little harder even.
Transition 2
  • 01m 5s
Comments:

Felt good about this transition. Went very smoothly except that I forgot my water bottle. It was ok though, because there were plenty of water stops.
What would you do differently?:

Make sure I bring my GPS so I know my pace and whether I need to push it more.
Run
  • 29m 23s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 09m 27s  min/mile
Comments:

Took about a mile to get my legs into running shape. Felt like I was shuffling most of the way, so was really suprised at my time. Wanted to be under 30 minutes, so was pretty happy about that.
What would you do differently?:

Need to get more miles in. Been slacking!
Post race
Warm down:

Got our stuff out of the transition area (except for the bike, they wouldn't let us take them for another hour). Walked to the car and got some water. Jumped back in the lake to cool off a bit and unwind. Ate pizza, walked around a bit until we could get our bikes.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Slacking in the running department lately. Too much bike, not enough running or swimming. Biking paid off though lol

Event comments:

The only complaint I could come up with was that they didn't have mile markers on the bike or the run. If they did, I didn't see them. I think I saw a #2 painted on the pavement of the run course, but wasn't sure if that was our mile 2 or an old one from some other run. Then again, had I remembered my GPS watch, I wouldn't have had to rely on them to put those out for us.
