What is the most central location? ... Columbia area ?

Maybe we could do lunch somewhere at the Columbia Mall -- like Champps ?

Columbia works for me... well since its RIGHT next to me.  Champps works too. Anyone have a preferred time.  Is anyone leaving their bike at the transition area over night?

Hmm.... not sure.
On one hand, it's nice to not have to drag it with you on race day... on the other hand... I get scared leaving my bike overnight !  I'll have to think about this one -- but if you/ we/ I do decide to bring bikes, what will we do w them while we're eating?  I prosecute enough criminals in Howard Co. to know NOT to leave my bike in my car !!

As per the email that came out last Tuesday:   All athletes rack your bikes in transition on Sunday morning. There is no racking of bikes on Saturday.

Also, heading up to North East, Columbia is 25 minutes out of my way .. which for a ride that would only be an hr isn't worth it.  Those of you coming from Columbia have to come east to get to Northeast so why don't we meet somewhere like Arundel Mills - then we can head up 295 from there or we could meet up in B-more somewhere if there is a park and ride or parking.

Trishia - Is there parking near where you live that we could meet at?

Unfortuantly, not really... there is street parking near my house but it's not really convenient.

Arudnel Mills works too --- and there are a few restaurants there ... we could do Chevy's or DuClaw.

Arundel Mills works for me.

Everyone's bib number and swim waves have been posted

 CAMP              STEVE               793    7 I

MIDDLETON         CHRISTY             879    8 I

KINCIUS           CHRISTOPHER         581    5 I

CECIL             TRICIA              885    8 I

Not sure about anyone else in the race. I know a few others but they aren't BT people.  Will the speedy smurf catch up to me even being 3 waves behind?

Unfortunately, I couldn't make it this year. BUT, I wanted to warn folks (especially first timers on this course) about a part of the bike course where at least two folks crashed last year. One had serious road rash and the other was a friend of mine who had to go to the hospital.

Just before the end of Irishtown Road, you'll be going downhill before the sharp right turn on 272 just before coming back into the park to transition. WATCH for "hidden" manhole covers coming down that hill!!! I also another friend hit one, lost his grip, but recovered. The covers aren't really hidden per se. But, they're easy not to see as they blended into the road well and also your attention when coming down the hill shifts to the person/police officer directing traffic up ahead and making the turn.

Good luck to everyone, be safe, and hopefully I'll be there next year!

At the 3:00 meeting they said the water temp was 85.  Sounds like they were leaning towards retaking the temp early tomorrow AM so that it might be 84.  As hot as it is down here now, it'll probably be 86 tomorrow!!

Since it will be higher than 78 I'm leaving the wetsuit at home. I know I won't place in my AG but feel I should race as though I will. Just my 2 cents.
