Total Time = 1h 31m 12s
Overall Rank = 233/334
Age Group = 30-34 Male
Age Group Rank = 28/30
Pre-race routine:

Worked until 3pm. Drove all the way home to pack up my gear, eat a banana, and hit the road
Event warmup:

Some stretching and talking with George, Susan and their family.
Swim
  • 17m 34s
  • 880 yards
  • 01m / 100 yards
Comments:

Another good swim for me. I guess the Clark Lake time wasn't a fluke. Looks like all the swimming in Trout Lake is paying off.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe try to swim a little harder. I'm very happy with this swim. More training will only get me to go faster!!
Transition 1
  • 02m 28s
Comments:

Horrible T1. I had my bike shoes setup backwards (left foot on the right, and vice versa). I spent way too much time trying to decide if I had my shoes on the right feet. Also having to put on wet socks and shoes didn't help either.
What would you do differently?:

Put a plastic bag over my shoes and gear to keep it dry. Put shoes in the correct spot. Trust that I know how to put shoes on the correct feet.
Bike
  • 39m 46s
  • 12.4 miles
  • 18.71 mile/hr
Comments:

My right calf cramped up really bad around mile 8. I was right at the bottom of the hill, and I couldn't use my right leg to push. I ended up having to get off the bike to stretch it. I kinda pushed my way up the hill until my calf felt a little better. I was in the wrong gear in the middle of the hill, and I couldn't get going and clipped in. Over all I guess the bike was ok all things considering.
What would you do differently?:

Not got off the bike. Try to stretch the calf while still on the bike.
Transition 2
  • 01m 9s
Comments:

Ran down the wrong row. Luckily my rack position was all the way on the end, so I was able to just go to the right row, and rack my bike. My running shoes went on surprisingly well even with wet socks. A decent T2 for me.
What would you do differently?:

Again, put a plastic bag over my gear to keep it from getting soaked by the rain
Run
  • 30m 18s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 09m 46s  min/mile
Comments:

Still can't seem to get any speed on the run. Part of it was my calf, and other part was being soaking wet. My legs didn't feel horrible, just wasn't able to move much faster.
What would you do differently?:

Just need to practice running faster. Didn't feel horrible, but just didn't seem to want to move much faster
Post race
Warm down:

Hung out with the BT-MI crew, and cheered for everyone finishing. Ate a great sandwich, and just hung out and chatted.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

As always, my weight. Also, I'm sure that racing on Sunday didn't help much either.

Event comments:

Another great race by Running Fit. I'm doing the entire series.
