Its official I have a stress fracture in my right hip. Not too many people can say they did there first oly on a broken hip. No wonder it hurt so bad. I'm really bummed out. No running for me for a while. Guess I'll either walk the run at Danskin next week or volunteer as a swim angel. Have I said lately that I hate my body??????????

Sorry to heat about you injury, I'm impressed you finished you first OLY with a hip fracture. I'd say walk the run if it doesn't bother you and won't cause more damage. Hang in there and get better soon.

Guess overuse....Started with an injury induced by my personal trainer.  Started in Jan or Feb and has been MUCH worse the last 3-4 weeks or so.

Well, don't bones generally heal much better than torn ligaments doc? Good luck, you'll just have to be patient! Is it OK for you to swim? You may find a lot of satisfaction in volunterring.

That is rather a shame Sue.  But will you be able to do the Tango ever again?

I would rest it and not walk the run at your next race. What if you fell off of your bike? You could really cause some damage. Volunteer and make the best of it.

Bummer!

I had a stress fracture in my femur last August and dropped out of a marathon at mile 5 because of it.

Blessing in disguise? I am no longer just a runner, but a Triathlete. My workouts have totally changed for the better. Besides just running, I am swimming and biking.

Be patient. Something good may come from it?

Hey,

Definitely don't walk the run at the Danskin. Your body needs to heal... give it the time it needs and it will pay you back big time the next time you *really* race!

So sorry to hear that Volunteering is a great idea! I hope it heals fast and doesn't cause you too much grief.

I'm sorry to hear that! How did your PT contribute to the injury?
