Chatagirl - I also wanted to squeeze anther Tri in this season but $250 for Marin is ... well ... too much.  Even for a charitable cause, thats pricey.  But we are at the end of the season unless you want to travel far for an event and ship your bike.  Time instead to switch to running races.  I just signed up for Surf City marathon in February.

I'm gearing up to run the SV marathon on Halloween....putting the bike away for a bit!

Does anybody know what happened to the cyclist on Highway 1 - went past the fire and ambulance, and they were getting a stretcher out.    Hate to see that.

I just wanted to add my one and only major criticism.  Those bike racks SUCKED!  I'm talking about the tire mount ground dealios.  They made the bikes lean over, and they had them so close together that there was no way to get into the bikes that weren't on the outside.

I'm  supposed to do the Long Beach 1/2 Marathon in a few weeks.  There is also the Turkey Tri in San Dimas.  I already have plans to be in SoCal that weekend, just need to figure out the bike thing.
