I'll be doing the 100.  One stop around halfway if anyone wants to join me.  I am just going out to hold a consistant pace.

Does anyone know the routes they take or if they have some maps up?  Their website didn't have them up.

I'm doing the 30mile but wouldn't mind knowing the roads since I know that area well.

Yeah, Dan's "consistant pace" on this ride will be... what 23?  24?  Dan, If I jump in with the lead pack at the start, I'll wave when you go by.  Otherwise, save some spaghetti for me ;

We've got bunch of Dunwoody Cycling folks doing the 100.  I'm hoping to stay with the 4:59 express as long as I can.  Should be a fun day.  Not too hot, still a good day to practice the nutrition/hydration plan.

I'll be the nut with the balloon at the stop sign at the intersection just before the start, please say hi.

my tip will be to watch for hills TriAli! don't be so worried about crowds to forget to downshift like i did. then i toppled over and have been out near three weeks. dont make that rookie mistake like I did.

otherwise. hydrate and calorate (if thats a word) well, and dont be afraid to stop at the rest stops.

Honestly, I use my tri shorts for every distance from 10 miles to 120 miles.  Sometimes too much cushion is a bad thing.  But make sure they are comfortable and they don't move around on you.  Tight is good in this case.

Tips:  Go out easier than you think you should.  It's a long day out there.  If you find yourself pushing even a little bit before the 50 mile mark...back off.  Have a nutrition plan ahead of time, don't just make it up as you go along.

You'll do fine!  I look forward to seeing you out there.

I know not what you speak Bill!  I will search out the Dunwoody Cycling guys before hand.  You guys have and always will continue to rock.

I just noticed that it's a 112 mile and 45 min run day for me.  So feel free to laugh at me as I am running.

I got them from Kevin.  If you pm me your email address, I will send them to you.  Kevin is planning on meeting up with us at the start.  He is going to ride part of the way with us.  He is also doing 30 so you might want to ride with him.  If you have any questions about the route, I may be able to help you.  I grew up in Madison so I am somewhat familar with the area.  I rode part of the route last weekend.

BTW, for all of you who have not done this ride before.  The parking sucks so you may want to get there early.

I HATE the substantial bike shorts, never wear anything but tri shorts (even in winter - just put tights with no pad over them).  Too much to get caught up in the female parts.  Make sure you ride in them before you do a hundy in them!

Yep.  That's the plan Lisa.  Wanna come run with me?  None of my guys are willing to.  Maybe I'll just 'add' it to their TP.  :P

I would except for two reasons:
1) I am hoping to be done before you since I am "only" doing 80.  Although you May be able to do 112 in the time I do 80!
2) It's not on my plan!

Does anyone know of a good meet up place?

Doug -  There are not a lot of places to meet up.  I would suggest around the registration tables.  The only other convienent place that I know would be out by the road where the ride starts.  It does not matter to me.  I am carrying my cell phone if that helps.  It would be a bit of a hassle for us to try to meet where most of us will have to park.

I'd say registration table - the road is a cluster at this ride!

We are going to REALLY miss you.  Now we do not have anyone to set the pace and pull us along.

You just relax, get well, and take care of us on the next one.

Does anyone know if they are doing the free bike tuneups?  My bike is not falling into the gears all the way and is especially bad on the 2nd ring.  I did a 33mile yesterday and had to stay on the 3rd chain ring most of the time (even on the bad uphills).
