Swim
Comments: Swim was nice. Freash water, no chop and wet suit legal! There were some cold spots and occational diesel taste from safety fleet. What would you do differently?: nothinh Transition 1
Comments: Good transition. Long run to mount area. What would you do differently?: Need to learn flying mount so I don't have to run in bike shoes. Bike
Comments: Bike was good, too good. Heart rate and cadence was higher than training rides. What would you do differently?: Train harder on the bike. Transition 2
Comments: Flying dismount, run to transition. Good transition. What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: Blew up around mile 5. Pace started at 8:30, then ran out of gas. Slogged to the finish. Those cold wet towels were great. Tried to drink, but my stomach was telling me it had enough. Slowed the pace. I thought I would never see that second loop turn around! What would you do differently?: Train harder on the bike so I don't blow up on the run. Post race
Warm down: The shower tent was great! Met my wife after the run, drank bottles of water. Went to tent and no cold water or cold drinks! Went to Jersey Shore Tri Club tent where there was plenty of cold water and drinks. Thanks guys! Had a checken sandwich, said good byes, picked gear and hiked to the truck. Truck seemed a lot further than in the morning. What limited your ability to perform faster: Did not train hard enough on the bike. Last updated: 2008-10-08 12:00 AM

Checked into race on Saturday, watched Uberman swim and walked to swim start. Those bouys sure look far away! Drove the bike course. Went to hotel, had dinner and tried to sleep. "They" are correct, most important nights sleep is two nights before race. Did not sleep well night before the race. Heard rain around 4:00 am.
None. Had to leave transition by 7:15 and was was 9:05. Almost 2 hours to wait. Hung around the Jersey Shore Tri tent with others waiting. Hey, the event is my warm up, don't want to waste any energy!
