Pre-race routine:

We were at the lake with friends so I had to pack up the family early and head to the race. I ate my normal setup.
Event warmup:

Had to rush to get Transition setup, chip, Bathroom before race meeting started.
Swim
  • 32m 15s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 58s / 100 yards
Comments:

Swim felt really good. Kept moving at a constant pace. The swim must of been long cause my time was horrible.
What would you do differently?:

Swim more. Get more pool time in to get faster.
Transition 1
  • 02m 10s
Comments:

Took my time here really. It was a long run from river to T1 up hill.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing really. Maybe next time run faster.
Bike
  • 1h 09m 45s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 21.38 mile/hr
Comments:

My goal here was to keep a solid pace, but NOT push the bike. I wanted to save my legs for the run. I was actually surprised on my time since I was taking it easy. I could of gone a lot faster, but didn't want to risk it.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Transition 2
  • 01m 31s
Comments:

Missed my row and had to back track a little.
What would you do differently?:

Pay attention. One day I would like to not have to put socks on for the run.
Run
  • 52m 54s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 08m 31s  min/mile
Comments:

I was starting to hurt around mile 5. I was holding back the cramps, but It wasn't as bad as last time. I think if the hills were not there I would of been able to run full out.
What would you do differently?:

Need to Run more
Post race
Warm down:

Just drank lots of fluids. It was hot.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Running and cramps

Event comments:

Great Race. The area was outstanding. I would do this race again easily. Only issue was the water. They started packing up so fast that I needed more water.

Solid race!  We had very similar times.  Good thing you had the discipline to not push the bike in anticipation of the tough run.  Very tempting to wind it up out on that bike course!
