Pro 4353 Wallingford, PA | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (Aug 09) Hot August Nights Hey all! Just got back home from a 2-week vacation/road trip with my kids. We traveled up and down the east coast visiting various relatives and seeing the sights. Lots of meals on the road... Somehow I managed to hold steady while eating less-than-optimally, and doing much less exercise than usual. Weight this morning was 150, down 1 lb for the month. We're home for a week, then off on another week's vacation before the kids head back to school. |

Member 46 | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (Aug 09) Hot August Nights well in for a penny in for a pound. i am new to the website, new to tri and this particular thread caught my interest. i have spent far too long sitting around and really need to start and get healthy, shed some pounds etc. just for a little background, i used to do alot of mountain biking, motocross and enduro, which kept me pretty fit. i always hovered around 190, and i'm about 6'0 at 37 years young. what am i currently, 236.6 according to the scales in the house. not good. so my goal 190lb, and to complete a sprint tri within the next 6 months. as for swimming i did used to train with a tri clud a couple of times a week, just for swimming, at the time i was not interested in actually completing a tri but times change. |

Regular 82 New Jersey | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (Aug 09) Hot August Nights Good morning, everyone! I realized that I never posted my weigh-in here last week, as I was busy getting ready to go away for a long weekend - sorry! Anyway, last Wed I weighed 258.8, down 4.2 lbs. Today, I weigh 255.6, down 2.2 lbs. There was a bit of yo-yoing up in the middle of last week, but I'm pleased that I recovered from that and lost a bit more. A weekend of long hikes seems to be great to get the scale moving! I'm a bit late, but for anyone looking for recipes, I love Cooking Light. You can access their recipes online at myrecipes.com and use the Enhanced Recipe Search. You can specify that you're looking for (e.g., side dishes or salads) and can specify that you want only Cooking Light recipes. I rely on the feedback from other people as to whether a recipe is worth trying - I stick to the 4- and 5-star rated recipes, and am rarely disappointed. (I hate slaving over a new recipe, only to find that I don't like it.) Lori |

Member 49 Cayman Islands | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (Aug 09) Hot August Nights man, I wish I was LeahDD today, and could not make this weigh in! 199.4 this morning....not good! wrong direction. Yikes. I thought I would end up close to where I was last week, but not 3 lbs heavier. I didn't think I was THAT bad this weekend...I mean, I did go for a 44 mile ride on Sunday!!! I also trained A LOT more than my schedule had for me last week.....rggghhh! My nutrition Sunday and Monday was pretty awful, but I would not have thought it was that much worse than weekends before. The only other difference I can think of is my spinach salads. Most weeks, I typically have a few spinach salads for lunch or dinner throughout the week, but I didn't have any this week. Can't imagine that alone would make such a difference, but it really is the only other difference I can think of. Oh well, no one said this would be easy. Back at it, and not even more motivated than ever...screw you weight! |

Not much point in pretending to carry on with the team until I get my health and motivation back. Good luck to everyone else. |

Many, many, many people wish they could be LeahDD, but mercifully, there is only one. The way to do it is have your employer schedule you for a Safety and Injury and Illness Prevention Program training session at a remote location. I have been assured by the other people who have already taken this training that there will never again be two hours of my life where I will be this bored. I am sooooo looking forward to this! |

Regular 75 Bishop, CA | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (Aug 09) Hot August Nights Hi everyone, I joined in the beginning but I was sick and dejected the past couple weeks so I didn't bother to measure myself. But, I did do my measurements and what-not in the beginning: Wt before: 135 Wt now: 133 Waist before: 28 1/2" Waist now: about 27 1/2" - 28" I'm feeling good in general but there have been a few slip ups nutrition wise. Now that I'm not sick and healthy again, I've been going to the gym regularly and it's starting to become a habit. I hope I can keep it up! |

Master 1915 Hamilton, Victoria | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (Aug 09) Hot August Nights Weigh-in day again! They come around all too quickly... I am steady at 275lbs this week. I really thought that I would be down a bit this week, bet there you go!?! Good news is that the company I now work for has a gym and I jumped on the treadmill last night for a quick session. I cannot believe how much easier it is for me to run on a treadmill as opposed to the outdoors. I will use this opportunity to condition my legs and hopefully drop some weight. Wish me luck for next week.... Last Week: 275lbs This Week: 275lbs Difference: 0lbs |

Even though I'm losing the lbs, it doesn't seem to coming off as fast as I had hoped. "But it's coming off, so I'll take whatever I can get". I know I probably need to go over my nutrition and training again and see if there is something I need to alter in my program to help me lose a little more. |
