as far as transportation ya'll can figure that out. I can accomodate some folks over or bring a tent to camp out on my back yard.

try for 9 am boat means leaving condo at just after 8 for bike to boat and tix etc.

also, I am going to try to line up storage for clothes etc. after but might want to think about a personal backpack. costs should be pretty low, boat ride ($24 round trip w/ bike) and perhaps  post ride chow.  Beyond that just bikes, camera's and smiles (well, good weather would be in there too)

yes, palmers is nice. right near main st, village green, etc.  GREAT funky coffee place a couple building down plus right near the road in and out of town.

I may stay there, just trying to figure out dog plans.  Any other ideas?  Most places sold out.

Wish I could join in but I am still having some issues with my wrist since my bike crash. I thought I would be OK when the thread started...but not quite yet.

Have fun out there, I love MV! I will send good weather karma your way

Is this a ride we are going to do in the rain???  It is supposed to rain all day on Sunday.  I don't know about the winds.  I know some are going to be up in RI, but is there a chance some could do it Saturday?   Rain isn't supposed to start until 7.  I am not a big fan of biking in the rain.

I'm not a big fan of the rain either, a little is not bad, alot is not good. We'll have to keep our fingers crossed and watch the weather. as it sits right now the latest is the most impacted will be nantucket and outer cape. The vineyard is about 4 miles from falmouth so our weather is theirs.  Nantucket is about 17 miles offshore so they are drastically different.  Keep tabs on it.

My phone is 508-654-2625 for those that need it call as needed.

also looking at perhaps a saturday night get together and stroll at some of the falmouth sites if folks desire. perhaps we can spark up a clamboil or cookout at my place.

Thanks for posting your phone.  Mine is 203-644-6994.  Do we have any idea how many on the ride?  I am coming with my BF, so we are 2. I heard a rumor that Chelsea Clinton may be getting married on Martha's Vineyard this weekend.  That will be even harder to deal with than Obama.  Is his location going to be a problem?

You guys picked one heck of a weekend to do this.  Not only are the Obamas and Clintons going to be there, but looks like Tiger Woods, Oprah, Byonce, Jay-Z and a few other lower level celebs, according to the Boston Globe.  Not to mention the Hurricane.  Be careful riding out there.  You may have bigger problems with the wind than the rain.  Can't wait to hear all about it.

latest on weather is that it "appears" that we should luck out. slight gusts, not much rain.

so far we have between 10 and 13 riders so far...plenty of time for last minute entries!!

sue, glen (c2fd), joanne (isis) (some part of the ride), denise, gatorgirl and barry, staylor36 (question mark), runningforbeer, (another question mark),KOM (another question mark),snl 323,flythebluesky (another question mark), drcherrybomb and hubby  and 2 guys and a spouse from my track club.

I think we should just crash the wedding.  I think we should be able to sneak the 10-13 of us in there.  IT is going to be chaos.  Should we get ferry tix early?

Sounds like a blast, even with all the potential celebrity hullabaloo and impending storm and such, but you'll unfortunately have to count me out.  My Cramming For Cranberry will have a lot more to do with running than biking this weekend and I'm hoping to spare my knees a little bit.

Have fun, all, and BE SAFE!  With all those celebs onisland and tourists renting scooters and such they don't know how to drive, caution over speed!

Maybe folks'll want to do this again, when summer traffic dies down a bit?

yes, I do think we would qualify as 'lower level celebs'!!

The tix on the island queen (and the steamship authority) are always good for passengers, no need to reserve. We just need to get there a bit before the boat so a 9 am boat we should head out of condo land shortly after 8 ish and get there in 10 minutes. If folks are going right to the island queen (you can park for $ or park at the staples store for $0) then by 8:15 is good.

Weather.com shows 50% change of rain all day.  We are up here at Palmer's Inn in Falmouth, so we are in.  My BF wan't to change his tires and get some rain gear.  Any favorite bike shop?  I want a new bike too?  Any Cervelo dealers here? jk.  I will work on that back home.  We are just hanging out if anyone has any suggestions.  I was thinking about a 3-4 mile run later, but I am painfully slow 10-11min/mile.

ay,

just down the street from your inn is 'corner cycle' a greatg shop. for a run you folks can hop on the bike path which is easy accessed (ask palmer peeps) or run down by the water.

do you want to get together at my place for dinner with isis and denise? and perhaps sue. thinking grillin' or seafood? maybe catch sunset or a evening swim or beach stroll? my number is above. joanne and I are around all day
