Subject: Found size 50 shoes online! Pedals?
In the search for clipless shoes/pedals for my size 15 feet I've decided to find shoes that fit first before buying pedals.  I've found a few options  from Lake (CX210;CX165XB;CX190XS) and SIDI (Zeta Mega; Zephyr Carbon).  The problem is figuring out what type of pedals are best for the shoes.

I've read on this forum about systems that "click both sides"-or something like that- and that offer "float".  I'm assuming that both of these are good things, and wondering which of the shoes about would work with those pedals   Can't remember or seem to find the posts so I apologize in advance!

I would love to order them both online and have them be compatible rather than spend my days searching LBS for sizing etc.  Gives me more time to train for my first Tri in Sept.
Thanks for any help!

Not on expert here, but from what I found on the Lake website...all 3 of the Lake models you mentioned are 3-bolt compatible (LOOK, Speedplay, Time, Shimano SPD-SL) WITH the option of 2-bolt SPD compatibility with an additional adapter.   It also looks like the 2 Sidi's are also compatible with both pedal systems.

In regards to "double-sided" pedals...in the 3-bolt pattern style, the only one would be the Speedplays.  In the 2-bolt pattern style, you have regular SPD pedals, which are double-sided, Crank brothers pedals (in which some are double-sided and some are quad-sided).  There might be a few others that I'm missing.

Ok, I'll look into buying the Speedplay pedals-was just looking at their website and some more posts on BT.  If I'm understanding everything I need the Speedplay pedals, the SIDI shoes and then have to find a compatible cleat?

Nope...the cleats are supplied with the pedals.

Just an FYI, I wear size 14s (48s) and have speedplays and am very happy with them.
