Event warmup:

swam a few yards
Swim
  • 15m 1s
  • 880 yards
  • 01m 43s / 100 yards
Comments:

There was alot of chop that made sighting difficult. Everytime I looked up I took in a mouth full of water. I did something different this time went out in front of the wave rather than the back...which might lead to the OH WOW!!..I had no idea I was 3rd in my age group coming out of the water..Saweeeeet!!!! To bad I suck at biking....
What would you do differently?:

apparently nothing!!
Transition 1
  • 02m 26s
Comments:

Can't complain as its a 2 min PR since my last tri..still have trouble getting my wetsuit off.
What would you do differently?:

Hire me a personal stripper...wetsuit that is!;)
Bike
  • 42m 43s
  • 12 miles
  • 16.86 mile/hr
Comments:

Tied for 11th. I probably could have pushed myself a little harder. It was rather disheartening watching people in my AG pass me..I caught a few in the run though!
What would you do differently?:

nothing it is, what it is
Transition 2
  • 01m 50s
Comments:

Yeah what improvements I made up on T1 I blew in T2..there was a steep downhill coming into transition..nothing you can do about that. When I racked my bike I went to put my shoes on and dang there was something in my left shoe!!..shoot!! had put money in there last time I took them off. Cleared that and tried to put it on again..dang a couple of asthma pills were in there too! Oh well..next time don't store crap in your shoes.
What would you do differently?:

like I said don't store crap in my shoes!!
Run
  • 25m 36s
  • 3.2 miles
  • 08m  min/mile
Comments:

Took off slow..one of my biggest fears doing this race is its 2 weeks out from Tman and I didn't want to pull a calf muscle again. I paced the first mile at around 10. Once the kinks worked out sped up from there. I was definately doing sub 8s the last mile.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. Good run passed a bunch of peeps including 3 in my AG..caught the last one 15yards out of the finish line!..Erica has a picture of her leaving transition in front of me..she took off out of transition and I was thinking bummer she is fast, no way I can keep up that pace!..heh..
Post race
Warm down:

stood around and talked with Erica and Kelley and Shaun

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I didn't go into this race thinking I was going to PR..too worried about being able to do Tman..I figured I would go all out on the swim. Try and improve T1 and the rest take it easy. I definately held back on the bike and it payed off later. Once I was into the 1st mile of the run..I felt great and ended with an 8:30PR!:)

Event comments:

How can you possibly beat a home town race and an 8:30PR?!

Hey great swim and race to you too! (I just saw that you posted on my race report, I'm still figuring my way around posting comments and stuff.) You had quite a speedy swim yourself- congrats on 3rd in your AG! Way to kick butt!
