Midwest Events
Overcast
Total Time = 1h 14m
Overall Rank = 13/123
Age Group = M30-39
Age Group Rank = 2/8
Pre-race routine:

Rode bike to race - how cool is that to have a race in my own town!
Event warmup:

Good stretch, jog, chatted with people I know
Swim
  • 12m 57s
  • 547 yards
  • 02m 22s / 100 yards
Comments:

Gotta learn to swim over the winter
Transition 1
  • 00m 22s
Comments:

lowest total transition time of anyone in the race, so at least I've got that going for me
Bike
  • 37m 11s
  • 12.7 miles
  • 20.49 mile/hr
Comments:

I have gone all year without getting passed on the bike. I think that means I need to learn how not to be one of the last ones out of the water.
Transition 2
  • 00m 18s
Run
  • 23m 16s
  • 3 miles
  • 07m 46s  min/mile
Comments:

Run actually felt pretty good, considering I haven't been doing much lately. Passed everyone in my wave on the bike and stayed ahead of them on the run, so didn't pass or get passed at all.
Post race
Warm down:

Talked with a bunch of folks, watched friends finished. Rode home via the bike course as I played sweeper after the last swimmer was out of the pool.

Event comments:

First year, first tri for the RD (though he organizes a few runs and is a stud triathlete himself). Race works pretty well for not having much to work with in Red Wing for course options. Needs to get no bigger than this or it is the neverending tri (as it was there was still like 3 waves of swimmers yet to start after I finished the race). Perennial event since it is local.
