Comments:

awesome swim, but it was obviously short...i didn't swim a 1.08 avg as much as i would have liked to.

a little choppy on the way out, but felt like you were surfing coming back to shore.

got a great start, no contact, did the same routine as troika, push it with the leaders until we break the pack, then just found my rythym and swam in no mans land, it was great

at one point tho, there were three of us swimming within about three feet, but still no contact, the arms were flying in perfect sync, and eventually we separated.

What would you do differently?:

nothing, felt great, water was super clear

Comments:

holy crap did i stink it up here.

i am still not used to exiting the water so far ahead of ppl, i know, boo hoo...but i didn't know the course! i had just passed 5 racers and could only see two ppl in front of me...they both zip across the road and take a left, there are cones and a volunteer holding a slow sign...so i take the left and proceed to climb a long steep hill. (~1 mile)

at the top, we find out we are doing the course backwards! great! we scream down the hill and back on course, but have lost considerable time, im guessing 5 minutes.

i hate to blame volunteers, but when 3 ppl all take a wrong turn directly in front of you, please yell or whistle, or SOMETHING

the rest of the course was fine, the hills were obviously there, but i felt strong, and moved up from my mental error.

then i screwed up again! making my way back into town i started pulling my feet outta my shoes and hear one fall off..youve got to be kidding me! so i slam on the brakes and pick up my shoe from a great volunteer who met me 1/2 way (thank you!)

so i ride into t2 with one shoe on, one shoe in my hand...just perfect end to a great segment

overall id say subtract 6 minutes from the bike
What would you do differently?:

know the course, no one to blame but myself

Post race
Warm down:

poured water over my head, big mistake...froze for the next 40 minutes!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

navigation on the bike course...still a 2:16 isn't that bad, but i would ahve been close to breaking 2:10, especially with the short swim...also broke my streak of AG places on my new bike...but, i was due for a bad race eventually

Event comments:

great race...and i will be back to fix that horrible bike time!
