Subject: need training plan advice for time trial
I am doing the biking leg on a relay team in a sprint triathlon at the end of September. The bike portion is 15 miles.

I will be completing my first HIM August 23rd (i'm doing the entire thing) but after that I am basically done for the season other than the relay on Sept 26th. This means that I will have 4 weeks from the HIM to recover, build, and taper. My goal for the ride is to go REALLY hard and PR.

Can anyone give me some advice as to what to do on the bike during those 4 weeks? I can ride up to 5 days/week if necessary.

Looking at your blog Jon it seems like you have your workouts pretty well dialed in. I am jealous of the swim/bike you did last weekend! Sounds like you had a blast.

Sounds like you'll have a couple of Z4, RPE8 bike workouts in your future!  For last Sprint I did (15mi bike), I got together with some other local triathletes and we'll did 8.5 mile TT type rides with 15-20 min WU and CD.  We've even did 15 sec staggered starts slowest to fastest on the TT, great motivation to go and catch and not be caught!  After 4 weeks of these I had a strong ride.
