Subject: Tri Bike or Upgrade Road Bike?
Hey all, wondering which way is the better route to go.A: Buy a TriBike, prob entry levelOrB: Upgrade current road bike with aero bars?What's the positives and negatives of both?Ie how much faster on a tri bike, etc..Ride 3x's per week, and will continue to do tri's...sprints, olyimpc, and one day Half's, and full Irons.Thanks for all the advice!!

You can get a close approximation, but you'll never be able to really convert your road bike into a tri bike.

I say buy a dedicated tri bike. 

Plus, that'll give you one bike for race days and solo training, and another bike that you can take out on group rides.

I think I would hold off for a while and use a road bike for tri's.  My Trek 1500 is fine for me right now.  You will have plenty of time to drop some coin in this sport, just make sure you know what you need and what you want prior to spending the cash.

Unless you are SURE you are going to stay in the sport, just put some shorty aero bars on the roadie. If you are SURE about staying in the sport, buy a tri bike.
