Total Time = 51m 9s
Overall Rank = 153/353
Age Group = M 50-54
Age Group Rank = 7/8
Pre-race routine:

Got up late, alarm was not set correctly. So scrambled at home, had my breakfast (Omlette) and then hit the road. Got to Harbour front by just after 6am and was at the transition by 6:45am, with plenty of time to set up and check out the area.
Event warmup:

Walked to the swim entrance and back to transition.
Swim
  • 11m 25s
  • 400 meters
  • 02m 51s / 100 meters
Comments:

Started off ok, but right shoulder was feeling taxed, so shut down the freestyle and break stroked it from the first buoy to the finish.
What would you do differently?:

No change to breast stroke. Will check out the shoulder.
Transition 1
  • 03m 16s
Comments:

Spent a lot of time getting the wet suit off. Where are the stippers when you need them?
What would you do differently?:

Practice more with removal of the wet suit.
Bike
  • 19m 47s
  • 10 kms
  • 30.33 km/hr
Comments:

Good ride, but could have been better though. Just didn't have the legs this morning for some reason.
What would you do differently?:

Use a higher gear and higher cadence.
Transition 2
  • 01m 46s
Comments:

Socks are my downfall. Need to get better way of putting on socks.
What would you do differently?:

Practice the socks.
Run
  • 14m 56s
  • 2.5 kms
  • 05m 58s  min/km
Comments:

Hard than I expected after my training, but was ok. Flat course, so shouldn't have been an issue.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked to food area, had pictures taken and then had some food and then walked to the ferry for return trip.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Hot day, and probably the hassle in the early morning with alarm not working correctly.

Event comments:

Good race, and well organized.
