Two great Triathletes in the hospital from Colorado

My two training buddies Juliapurr and dickdime were hit by a car today. SHe and Richard (dickdime) and others were riding and Richard and Julia were hit by a car on a training ride on Rampart range road while riding with others. Richard has a head injury that consists of bruising of the left and right side. He has 6 broken ribs and small punctures in the left lung. A neck injury of a fractured C7 vertibrae and lots of road rash on his face and head. He was wearing a helmet. Julia was riding next to Richard as they were hit and was cartwheeled in the air and has severe leg injuries. Left knee has major road rash and right knee has a puncture wound behind the knee and a broken knee cap. Not sure if Chris said she has a fracture tibia. Major road rash on the left shoulder down to the muscle tissue. She was going into surgery around 6 P.M. and I was talking with her. She was also heavily sedated. She is at Littleton Hospital.
Richard was not responsive to command but was moving his arms and legs when he was air lifted. He was not responsive when I went in to see him. He is on a ventillator and heavily sedated to help him heal. The brain is a mystery until they bring him off sedatives and do more neuro testing. His lung and vertibrae should heal up. Let's keep them in our thoughts and prayers! I will keep you updated as I can. This just sucks!
