This is my first HIM and the weather outlook is good . . . clear skies with lows in the upper-50s and highs in the low-70s.   Asking for better weather in November might be getting a little greedy.  I hope everyone's training has gone well and is getting an easy week in.  Looking forward to seeing/meeting some BTers out there.

Anybody have any recommendations on place to eat?  Wife and I will be heading in to get the race packet pretty early and park ourselves somewhere to watch LSU vs. Alabama.  Will need a good place for dinner after the game is over.  Weather does look great.  Looking forward to a second Ironstar.  Wish my training had been a little better these last few weeks, but as any triathlete with a family knows that rolling with the punches is the name of the game.

Not sure what you are looking for so I will name a few.

I have eaten at the pizza shak in Willis, but the one in Montgomery gets better reviews from people I have spoken with.  Also for Italian is the italian grille in Conroe, or the second resturant, called italian cafe) on FM1097 between Montgomery and Willis ( My mother in law said this one is great).

Ransoms steak in Montgoemry is new and I have heard very good things about it.  It is your typical steak house with steaks made to order and sides ala carte.

Panera bread at 105 and 45 in conroe has great light sandwhichs and salads if you like that type of thing.

I do not know how far Original pizza delivers, but they have the absoulute best pizza ( and wings), IMO, around.  It is close to the Italian cafe, but is mostly take out even though they have 3 tables inside.

I have started to eat at Grampy Larrys, and I must admit it is pretty tasty as well.  It is above a gas station on the lake and has a nice deck that you can eat and enjoy the sunset.  They have a nice sized bar inside and many tv for football.  Allthough most food is pretty heavy, they do have a few items that are not bad.  I think on Satuday they have all you can eat crab legs.

Sam boat is on Lake conroe as well and closer to the race site, between Montgomery and Conroe off 105.  They have a light menu and heavy greasy food as well.  The food will not blow you away, but you can leave satisfied and not bloated unless you so choose.  It is a very newly developed strip center that has boat parking.  Also, next door is a five guys burger and fries that have some pretty good burgers.  Next to that is a county line bbq.  All these have waterfront seating.

I you have something else in mind or want more details let me know.

Rain won't matter too much on this course, not a lot of sharp turns.

No beer here unless you bring your own. This race doesn't do beer.

Yea, I loaded up no beer into the truck last night for the race. Lots of water and Gatorade though.
