Comments: Wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. Got into a pretty good rhythm after the first buoy until the female leaders caught up, it was like a second start. What would you do differently?: Learn to spot better. When I spotted I kept pulling up my head to far and killing my momentum. Transition 1
Comments: Overall pretty bad. No real rhyme or reason to getting dressed. I found myself randomly putting on clothes. What would you do differently?: Practice, practice, practice and get shoes without shoe laces. Bike
Comments: Felt great on the bike. Very happy with my average speed and time. What would you do differently?: Work on dismount. Maybe get some aero bars. Transition 2
Comments: Overall pretty bad. No real rhyme or reason to getting dressed. I found myself randomly putting on clothes. What would you do differently?: Practice, practice, practice... Run
Comments: Big hill at the beginning of the run made the first 1/2 mile of the run hurt. Other than that I felt pretty good. What would you do differently?: Work harder on bike/run bricks. Learn how to drink while running. Post race
Warm down: Walked around and ate some turkey wraps, bananas, and drank a lot of water. What limited your ability to perform faster: This was my first race to I was pretty happy with my time. Last updated: 2009-08-25 12:00 AM

Pasta dinner Saturday night, Woke up at 5:30am, ate a blueberry nutrigrain toaster waffle with peanut butter and banana on it. Got to the race around 6, set up my transition area then re-arranged transition area about 8 times. Sipped electrolyte drink for about 1/2 hour before the race. Got in the water 5 min before buzzer went off.
On and off training, should have been more diligent about training. Was unable to swim for about 1 month before the race.
