add me to the dork list! I was planning to be late to my 10am meeting, just so I could get in on time. Luckily the meeting was cancelled and I was F5'ing from 9:58 onward . . . got in at 9:59. This multi-sport lifestyle is too expensive to pass up a deal like this!

I am really debating this race. She would be my first half-mary I am typically a sprinter, but the timing is good. And its a good excuse to get the run volume up over the winter in prep for Black Bear..which is a week later this year. Hmmmmm. Tempted.

Don't forget that Black Bear is no longer a Half IM - just a sprint & Oly.

There's nothing dorky about saving money!!! In fact my mom...who would never, ever, EVER run even a mile...said she was tempted to sign up for the $17.66 just so she could brag to her friends about getting the deal (she's what you would call a COMPETITIVE shopper).

So maybe she could run while pushing a shopping cart?  Wink

FYI...they are doing a 5k at Rutgers on 12/12. It's FREE...seriously FREE!!!

OK, you have to donate a toy but it's a great cause and it's still a great price!

Actually Michele is the RD...she feeds me bits of information on a need to know basis.

The preview run is 10-miles but those that don't want to go that far can cut it short. The segment that is mile 5-8 is near the start so people can just shoot off.

I'm looking for a tune up for Unite and they sent out a notice about the Caesar Rodney Half Marathon in Delaware. The timing is good, about a month before. Don't really know Delaware. Does anyone know about this race? Is it a good course? Hilly or flat?

Done it a half dozen or so times.  Start is downhill for the 1st mile, then flat until mile 3 or so, then a gradual uphill back into town, then flat for a bit, then starts the long hill in the park..you basically go up for about two miles, a little bit of undulating but mostly up.  Then a plateau at the top of the hill for a couple miles, which includes the turnaround at about mile 8.  Then back down the big hill you came up in the park.  Miles 10-12 is downhill, so you can make good time here if you still have energy left.  At the bottom of the hill when you make the sharp right back into town, there is a really nasty up hill right before the finish..it's about 1/4 mile long and it kills you.  Still I managed a PR there one year.  It is a fun course overall.
