Swim
  • 21m 37s
  • 1094 yards
  • 01m 59s / 100 yards
Comments:

This was pretty rough from the start. There was a ton of pushing, kicking and jostling for position. I didn't get my own space until I hit the buoys to turn around. I couldn't get into a groove and did not feel comfortable during the swim. My sighting was on and I feel like I was dead on withthe buoys throughout the swim. I was hoping to break 20 minutes here.
What would you do differently?:

Some more OWS.
Transition 1
  • 02m 35s
Comments:

Long run to T1. I need to buy tri shoes.
What would you do differently?:

Buy tri shoes.
Bike
  • 32m 6s
  • 9.3 miles
  • 17.38 mile/hr
Comments:

The course seemed easy compared to RI. For once I was passing quite a few people. Moore's hill was fine and I tackled the two hills on 25A. As always I need to ride more.
What would you do differently?:

Ride more.
Transition 2
  • 01m 45s
Run
  • 21m 4s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 06m 48s  min/mile
Comments:

Passed a ton of people and felt good the entire run.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Post race
Warm down:

Got a massage and had some water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I haven't really trained consistently since RI.

Event comments:

This is my 2rd year doing the race. It is one of the larger races on LI that is well run and a good time.

Hey Ralph.  Nice job!  Finishing top 14% is awesome!  Looks like you had a solid swim and an EXCELLENT run... and, well, you know you have to bike more   But overall a very solid effort with a strong finish.
