Comments: The race was 6 10k loops through the park. I was happy with my times, the first loop was the fastest, but it was still daylight and it was the first loop. Starting with loop 2-6 I was fairly consistant with my times and even had 2 negative splits mixed in. Loop 1: 1:09:05 Loop 2: 1:24:13 Loop 3: 1:21:59 (-) Loop 4: 1:23:39 Loop 5: 1:22:55 (-) Loop 6: 1:26:42 What would you do differently?: Really nothing, but I need to learn to run downhill faster, I really lose time pussy-footing down the hills. However on the rocks at night I was a little scared of tripping and landing hard. Post race
Warm down: Walked around, ate some honey-dew melon, walked back to the camp site, took shower and tried to sleep a little. What limited your ability to perform faster: Technic, I need to learn to run the downhills faster and with more confidence. Event comments: I enjoyed running 2 out of the 3 Capt'n Karl's Endurance Races this summer. I will probably plan on doing all three next year. Great races. Last updated: 2009-08-12 12:00 AM

Drove to Ink's Lake park - arrived around 3pm and found a camp site. Setup the tent, played with the family and ate a sandwich for dinner. The race started at 7:00pm, a night trail run.
Not much, walked around visited with some folks from Waco that was down for the race.
