Total Time = 1h 12m 58s
Overall Rank = 8/224

Age Group Rank = 1/15
Pre-race routine:

i searched for my tri shorts and came up blank - it was wear the bike shorts for the whole race:great on the bike bad in the water and run. or the speedo - great in the water, not real good on the bike embarrassing on the run. - i went speedo. i found my tri shorts after the race.

got out the door late b/c tri shorts and the toilet.

otherwise it was the normal routine

Event warmup:

i ran a mile and a half and tested the goggles and bike.
Swim
  • 09m 18s
  • 704 yards
  • 01m 19s / 100 yards
Comments:

i see 4 people in the results ahead of me in the swim who clearly didn't start in the right wave (eg: times like 1:57 for the 700m swim + 200m run) - I excluded them. there is a 4th who likely was another one but I counted him.
Transition 1
  • 00m 25s
Comments:

They don't have transitions splits pulled out of the bike and run. I used the transition times from th same course done 1 month earlier
What would you do differently?:

I would like to learn to do a flying mount.
Bike
  • 41m 8s
  • 15 miles
  • 21.88 mile/hr
Comments:

I took the estimated 25 sec T1 off the posted 41:33
What would you do differently?:

I am sill not riding consistently. I am not training enough. I am getting new tires.
Transition 2
  • 00m 39s
Comments:

again-They don't have transitions splits pulled out of the bike and run. I used the transition times from th same course done 1 month earlier
What would you do differently?:

I am still having trouble getting my running shoes on fast. I don't have heel pull tabs and i didn't leave enough slack in my yanks. I also get calf cramps when putting them on.
Run
  • 21m 29s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 06m 55s  min/mile
Comments:

in the middle of it I got a misting from God -thanks man.

-The posted time is 22:08. I took out the estimated 39 sec transition 2
What would you do differently?:

know where i am racing and on what
Post race
Warm down:

some walking/jogging and easy swimming. then chatted with (DLaw) Dan and my friend Vicky and a few others.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

mental effort bike and run, slow t2, training on the bike

Event comments:

Ultra fit consistently puts on good races. There are ample volunteers and unofficial results are posted after the race and online results posted day of event.
