In the past three months, what has been the most popular day of the week for BTers to workout on?

Saturday?
No.

Then it must be Sunday, right?
No.

It's...
Tuesday.

Day of the Week Pct. of Workouts
Tuesday16.47%
Wednesday16.02%
Monday15.82%
Thursday14.15%
Friday13.13%
Sunday12.83%
Saturday11.58%

You're an unpredictable group. I haven't the faintest idea what this means, but it's definitely not what I expected.

Maybe next time I go poking around in the database I'll break it out by sport.

Maybe during the week there are more short two/three-a-days?  Saturday/Sunday generally seems to be long bike or long run.

So this is just the actual number of workouts, right?  Not the time spent working out?  It does seem like the weekend would take the most time.  Although...who woulda thunk Tuesday?

Wednesday (humpday leads to hump nights)  Since this is 2nd highest, I see this as a more valid concern for a topic
Thursday (should be high since nothing else is going on)
Friday is for frying
Saturday is for "sat-ing"
Sunday is for sunning
Monday is good for nothing
Tuesday (should also be high since nothing else is going on)

so, how about which days have the most hours spent working out...?

i'd say SAT/SUN are probably at the top, followed by TUE or THU...

People probably more often than not plan big workouts for Saturday and Sunday and Monday as a rest day.  When they don't follow through and they bag their weekend workout, they start back with a vengance for the next scheduled training day on Tuesday. Kind of like January at the gym, on a shorter timeline.

Then again it may just be a random BT fact.

Outside life doesn't usually get in the way on Tuesdays.

Weekends are usually when people want to get together or get away. Thursdays and Fridays are spent gearing up for the weekends, and Mondays are spent Recovering from them.  Wednesday is hump day, and tuesday... well, its not much of anything. I can't remember the last time someone invited me to a happy hour on a Tuesday. :-)

Just as a sidenote- the social aspect (or lack thereof) on Tuesday is EXACTLY why I rearranged my schedule so that I do my long runs on Tuesdays .  I never have an excuse to miss the most important workout of my week.... I've only had to move it a couple times this summer, and that was only due to weather. So its worked quite well  for me!

How about breaking out the Tuesday activity by category?

Biggest swim day?  v. Biggest run day? v. Biggest bike day?

Exactly!  Tuesday's the day I finally get around to making up for the workouts I missed on the weekend.
