Subject: OMG! Todd and Heather Gollnick just emailed me!
I signed up for the Rev3 full distance tri at Cedar Point. This is Heather Gollnick's race company.
It will be my first IM-distance.

Anyway, I had a question about accommodations. They have an RV park there, but it isn't open on weekdays that time of year, and doing the RV park had been my plan for the family. I emailed at 5 p.m. to ask if they could ask them to leave it open a few extra days for race people. At 10:15 p.m., Todd and Heather wrote me back to say they would check into it!

Heather lives here in the Sarasota area and does a lot of local races.  Very nice lady and very approachable.

Quick story:

I was doing the Englewood sprint tri a couple of years ago and was plodding along about halfway through the run.  Heather came up from behind to pass me.  We exchanged greetings and I asked her how I had gotten in front of her since she had been in the first wave to start.  Turns out that she had already finished and was doing the run course a second time while waiting for the awards ceremony.  And with that she took off into the distance...

I planned on using the RV park if I decided on the HIM dist.  If that's not open I'd most likely not end up doing the race.  Please post what you find out on this.  Thanks.

It is open, but only Thurs night through Sunday night.
That would be fine for HIM, but I am worried I might not be physically ready to pull out of the park on Monday, and it's Monday night that is not available.

It sounds like they are going to try to work something out with the park.

By the way, you can hold a reservation without paying for a while. You have to call the park. The dates that far in the future are not reservable online, I think.
