Smile GOOD NEWS -- While getting a "post HIM" bike fit I asked if anyone knew the status of the rider who went down hard and was medivaced off the course.  I was told he had a bad concussion and a separated shoulder.  Bottom line, I was told he is doing fine.  I hope this is true . . .

tri_d00d - 2009-10-05 10:34 AM I was looking through some of the pics we took and came across this one where a tandem bike was used? Really? I call drafting!
there were several blind competitors. Probably belongs to one of them and their guide

One of my classmates was a guide. His partner is an Iraq war vet who has had 10 surgeries, so far with a few more to go. Their time was  around 7:15, which is a hell of an accomplishment. I admire the hard work to get that done. Imagine, two guys who have to be in shape, have the right nutrition and work together for over 7 hours? Wow.

scott h - 2009-10-02 9:45 PM Ok I just looked at my photos. They should be fired. Not one shot of me at the finish. I was in an early wave so they were still there. If anybody was going to by a photo that would be the one the want right. All but one of my bike photos are at corners. Who wants a picture up on your bars with your hands on your brakes. I want the shots of me down in aero position, and yes I spent the vast majority of the race in that position. Im with you Cube, Nacho Mamas is a bust if I cant have a adult beverage after the race. I also got to meet the Bennets. She is from my neck of the woods. Her brother wins everything around here. He won Escape to Miami the same day as Augusta. Every pro triathlete I have met so far amaze me. They have all been so down to earth and willing to share info with you. Imagine getting to just have a casual conversation with Tiger Or Tom Brady.

I agree 100% - the photogs should be fired from this race.  Only pics of me were a couple on the bike and run.  I looked through ALL the lost photos and found a few of me swimming but NONE of me finishing.  I have never heard of an IM or HIM that doesn't have photogs there until the very last finisher is in.  Very disappointing.

Yeah I wasn't too pleased with my pics from the race - the ones my friends and family took were 10 times better and I'm sticking with those lol. A friend of mine showed me his and they have a girl in his group of pics and two random guys as well. guess someone couldn't read the #'s too well but to mistake him for a girl - really lol - thought that was amusing!!!

I might email Brightroom. These are the worst pics of any 70.3 ive done. ASI at 70.3 Fla is much better. Whoever was doing the finishline needs to know to get the finishing banner w/logo and time clock IN THE PIC!!! DUH!!
Only 2 of me on the bike, one close up coing out of the water and like 7 on the run...all just so so.

I have e-mailed.  Have not heard back.

There is nothing of me coming from the water and I understand, that is tough to identify and to even shoot.  I do have several on the bike and and several on the run...all are meh'.

Having lunch with a friend early next week.  She happens to be the Events Coordinator for ASI (they are located in Tucker...my wife used to work there years ago).  I have told her about this cluster and am going to see if they can get REAL serious about bidding for this event next year, for those of you that do it.

I must be one of the lucky ones because I really like my pics.  I have a zillion of me on the bike- both in aero and on the bullhorns. I have enough runs pics.  I don't mind that my finish pic doesn't have the clock in it- being that I didn't start until 8:14 the clock time is pretty irrelevant to me.  I don't have any of me exiting the swim but for me those are always the most unflattering pictures anyways.  A friend snapped one of me exiting the water that turned out pretty good so I can't complain.

I guess with 3,000 athletes they are going to miss some folks.  Disappointing- yes.  But everything can't be perfect with larger races the first year they have it

I just got my triple print and it didnt even have the Ironman logo in the upper right corner!! It was just typed text saying: Ironman 70.3 Augusta...how sad is that?!!
I called and complained, a supervisor called me back and she had the graffic arts dept add in the Augusta Ironman logo and is re-sending my order free of charge....I shouldnt have to call...its an IRONMAN, the LOGO needs to be on the print!!!
Not impressed with Bightroom at all, will advise how the re-send looks once I recieve it.

I just went through the "lost pics" and found a couple more of myself. Bummed about no getting the logo and finish time in my shot.

Am I missing something here.  My assumption was that since it was a wave start, the clock started with the first wave so unless you were in the first wave, the clock time is a lot more than your actual time.  If so, why do you guys care if the clock is in your pictures anyway.  It would just look like you were a lot slower than you were.

Couldn't agree more ... how is it that this race is the only one of umpteen dozens where a finish line photo was not taken?
