  • 2112 yards

Comments:

Current was strong, and I kicked harder than normal when swimming against the current. Time includes long run (200 yds?) to timing mat at transition.
What would you do differently?:

Draft more.

Bike
  • 3h 12m 46s
  • 56 miles
  • 17.43 mile/hr
Comments:

Road first loop at easier pace, then picked it up on the second loop.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Transition 2
  • 01m 15s
Comments:

Good transition.
Run
  • 2h 32m
  • 13.1 miles
  • 11m 36s  min/mile
Comments:

The temperature was up to 96 degrees during the run. I was under-trained for the run due to bursitis in my left knee, so I knew it would be tough. Within 1 mile, I knew it was going to be a long, hard run. I ended up running 1 mile at a time and walking through each aid station. Overall, considering the weather conditions and my training level, it was a good run.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

Current on swim. Hills & rough roads on bike. Temperature and training on run.

Event comments:

This is a hard course. My coach, who has done hundreds of races, including 4 IM's, said this was the 2nd hardest race he has ever done. Only IM Wisconsin was harder.
