Subject: RE: a few questions from a beginner / clothing/ wheelsFor the race number, I wear it on the swim too. Prior to the race, I crunch & wad it up a bunch of times, so it gets nice & soft. I stuff it down the back of my tri shorts for the swim (wetsuit or not ). Funny you mention Reed - in my last two tri's, I went with a Big Matty Reed signature model racebelt - it's actually just a single Xtendex elastic lace - it works great for being low-profile & comfy, but sometimes the race number gets all scrunched up on the lace bumps - I'm still working that issue out, but I love the idea overall compared to a traditional race belt. Recommend doing the swim in a tri top, not a bike jersey. Bike jerseys aren't made to swim in - tri tops are. I use 808s front & back for race wheels. Love 'em. I had the option of going with a 909/disc combo or the 808s, and I have no regrets with my 808s. I understand a disc may be more ideal in nice conditions, but if I'm gonna throw down $$$ for wheels, I want to use them in any race conditions, hurricane or otherwise. Cheers, Chris |
