Total Time = 3h 10m 49s
Overall Rank = 363/
Age Group = 20-24
Age Group Rank = 20/21
Pre-race routine:

Well before anything is said. I put in the wrong swim time and ended up being bib #4. Ouch, so I moved my self back to the 200's. Also had a slight injury day before from a short run. Knee was killing me for this race!! Anyways, stayed in a nearby hotel, thanks to Dad. Woke up at 5am, suited up then left for the park.
Event warmup:

Setup transition, last time I will ever have a single digit bib:) Hung around until the start. Not much stretching. Wasn't really nervous, just ready to get the show on the road!

Swim
  • 34m 7s
  • 1640 yards
  • 02m 05s / 100 yards
Comments:

Freestyled the first 200, then I couldn't breathe right, so I switched between free and breaststroke for the remaing 1400...
What would you do differently?:

Need more time in the pool, hope to have this corrected before the Lake Lanier bunch start...
Transition 1
  • 02m 47s
Comments:

Put shoes on before got on the bike this time. Wasn't really concerned about transition times this race.
Bike
  • 1h 27m 28s
  • 26.1 miles
  • 17.90 mile/hr
Comments:

Felt great going uphill, maybe due to those roswell rides, but couldn't take advantage of the down hills. The trade-off between being small for climbs, or being big for downhills.
What would you do differently?:

More hill training
Transition 2
  • 01m 27s
Comments:

Again, not worried about transitions
Run
  • 1h 04m 40s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 10m 25s  min/mile
Comments:

Hamstring went in the first mile, had to stop for about 4 minutes to stretch it, punch it, whatever would make the pain go away. Didn't feel it for the rest of the race. After mile 5, quads in both legs went. Didn't stop this time, just ran through it.
What would you do differently?:

More bike/run bricks to stop this cramp stuff.
Post race
Warm down:

Little stretching

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training

Event comments:

I just said to hard based on my ability just because I hadn't done any training really. But look forward to doing this race again next year and see how I improve.

hard to race on an injury and get results...sorry your knee was messy.  You did not have anything about your calories and water intake.   Maybe the hamies and quad let go due to needing some electros?  Just a thought.  Also, I am told a road bike is hard on the hamies and hurts the run.  If you are riding roadie, maybe it hurt the hamies along with the knee hurting.

Either way, as a wise person told me, any day you get to swim, bike and run is a great day!

We need to hook up for a ride soon.
