Pre-race routine:

I was using this as a training day looking forward to Augusta. I trained hard all week leading into race day. Maybe tapers are overrated????

I got up at 5 and showered. I ate a cliff bar, banana, and 1 gel prior to the swim start.
Event warmup:

1 mile run; 100M swim
Swim
  • 27m 46s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 41s / 100 yards
Comments:

Little disappointed, but not much. I should have been a minute or two faster.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. Go to a swim clinic.
Transition 1
  • 02m 23s
Comments:

Bad T1.
What would you do differently?:

Practice.
Bike
  • 1h 10m 15s
  • 26.1 miles
  • 22.29 mile/hr
Comments:

Decent bike for me. Hills are not my strength, but I did feel really good. My HR data was low - maybe I should have pushed it a tad bit?
What would you do differently?:

Not much. Consider pushing a little harder.
Transition 2
  • 01m 6s
Run
  • 46m 44s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 07m 32s  min/mile
Comments:

I really felt fine on the run for once. I stayed positive and kept my HR in check. It went by fast.
What would you do differently?:

Push a little harder.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

No rest and no taper.

Event comments:

I had fun; congrats to all!

If that was a tune up after a hard week, you are going to have a very nice Augusta.  Great job.
