Subject: Swimming with a wetsuit

Is swimming with a wetsuit supposed to feel really exhausting? I am a pretty strong swimmer but when I swam with the wetsuit on my shoulders tired very quickly. I ordered the correct size according to the sizing chart.

It can be more tiring if it doesn't fit right or not put on "correctly."   Assuming it fits, you need to really spend time pulling it up as high into your crotch as you can.  Then up over your hips.  Then work on the crotch again, and then the hips again.    You need to make sure nothing is pulling "down" as you will be fighting against it.

Same with your torso, and arms.

A tip.....   While you are putting it on, or after it is on, twist the rubber material on each arm so that the natural "pull" of the material actually pulls your arm forward.  i.e., twist the rubber on your left arm toward the outside...  that should make a difference, or does for me.

^^^ agree with above post. Most likely you don't have it on right, and not "up" enough. It takes a few times to figure this out (usually the hard way like you are experiencing!!). You literally have to start at your ankles. If its not pulled up enough at your ankles, then its not right at your knees, your hips, etc. If its not tight-ish in the crotch, then its not going to fit right on your shoulders and you will leave a big space for water to fill in and slosh around. Keep trying,..you will get it.

X2 on what Chris said.  I know mine is on properly when I can raise both my arms directly over my head and I don't feel any restriction in the shoulder area at all.  If I still feel restricted, I start down at the ankles and work my way up again.

Maybe this could help,  A Wetsuit Tip from Emilio De Soto.

I soak my wetsuit if I haven't worn it in awhile.
