Subject: training from 1/2 to full ironman
Any suggestions of plans used? 1/2 is about 17 weeks from the full. Any thoughts would be great!

I don't think these really have any impact on each other. Train for the 1/2, then jump into the full training plan at the appropriate spot. You'll actually probably end up going down in volume.

I followed Don Fink's Be IronFit plan, and he had a 1/2 scheduled in there 10 weeks before the full. If the 2 races were closer together like that, I'd say just follow the IM plan and schedule the 1/2 as part of training.

I agree.  I followed a 20 week program for an HIM in early July and then hopped into a 20 week, at the appropriate spot, for an IM late September.  It has worked out fine.  Just realize the volume of training at its peak is significantly more of an impact on your body and life than training for an HIM.
