At my first tri a few years back on the run part a girl
about seven was shouting and clapping saying:

“Come on people! Put some muscle into it! You call that a
run? You’re killing me here folks, you’re really killing me!”

I still laugh when I think of her.

But my all-time favorite was at my HIM in Wisconsin about 10
miles to the bike end my son was shouting with all the power his four year old lungs could muster:

Go Mommy, go! You’re winning!

(Of course I was not even close to winning, but it’s the thought
that counts)

Awesome!!! Talk about motivation!

"If you were Kenyon you would have finished two hour ago."

A friend and I running together started cracking up and it made the last 4 miles go easier.

Last year when I was barely getting into running (and tri's) I noticed a bunch of motivational messages chalked on the run path I use after the local city sprint Tri.  This year I'm going to be in that event so I'll have to put a couple messages out there for myself and the other participants.  This thread is full of good material

At the Nations Triathlon last year I saw a woman holding a sign that said "Chuck Norris never did a triathlon' while I was walking down to the swim start.

At the Baltimore Marathon I saw one that said "You're the Best, Around!" and had a picture of the Karate Kid at the bottom.

These are my two favorites.

murphvoss - 2009-09-18 9:00 AM Motivational: During the Minneapolis Lifetime Triathlon two years ago, two guys were completely decked out in nun costumes (habits and all) along the run course and one of them had a sign that said "Run like Hell". I absolutely cracked up and I still laugh when I think of those two. Demotivational: At the Twin Cities marathon, along the parkway near mile marker 11, a group of jokers set up a sofa with a mini-fridge full of beer and treats on a coffee and hung a sign over it that read "Couch of Temptation"

On the River Road during TCM I saw a couple of guys with a cooler and a sign that said "Free beer for quitters"
