I'm signed up for this for the second year in a row.  It's a well run race from downtown Lansing into East Lansing.  You run past Sparty and part of the MSU campus and then take the river trail back into Lansing.  The website is ccriverrun.org.  We have a group that will be doing a practice run of the 1/2 marathon course this Sunday morning at 8 or 8:30 if anyone's interested.

Ouch, that CMU game will sting for a while.  Come on over a week early for a practice run with us if you want.

Just plain wrong!

I'll be running this again this year too.  It'll be second CCRR.  I'll be in the Lansing Center morning of near the east side doors (closest to the Lugnuts stadium) for a while before the race.  Anyone wanting to meet up before the race let me know.

Anyone have any specific goals for this one?  I was hoping to break 1h40m after an early 1/2 mary early this year... but I've slacked on running...  we'll see what happens.

I'll be happy with anything under 2 hours at this point.  I'm treating this as another training run for the Detroit Marathon.

do I add to my outfit a ND hat?
Ok, ok, I just had to get that in there
Actually I HATE ND, and I'm Catholic! Sparty's should have won both those games. Good luck to everyone running Sunday.

The last 2 Football Saturdays have been difficult for sure.  I'm still a Spartan though.  I ran the course yesterday.  As always it's beautiful.  There is one small problem though.  The rivertrail is currently closed from Pennsylvania to Cedar.  They are in the process of repaving it.  I'll find out what the plan is and post it here.  There will either be a very newly paved section of trail or a detour onto the streets right after Potter Park Zoo.

Update on the rivertrail under construction.  The contractor plans to pave Wednesday/Thursday depending on the weather.  They believe it will be ready late Thursday or early Friday.  That's great news, that portion of the trail had poor drainage, a sinkhole, and numerous spots pushed up by tree roots.  That wasn't exactly friendly to a runner entering mile 11.

Great news on the River Trail project.  They were paving yesterday.  We'll have a nice stretch of brand new pavement between the Potter Park Zoo and Cedar Street on the River Trail.  The City of Lansing was also able to juggle construction closures on Michigan Avenue just east of 127 so that the runners will have a full lane to run in.  Everything is falling into place nicely, even the weather.  Latest report has the rain ending by midnight Sunday morning and the temperature about 54 degrees at the start of the race.  Chance of rain Sunday is 10 or 20 percent.

I hope to see folks out there Sunday morning.

When is this race, anyhow?  I was out there last weekend...rode from Dewitt into Lansing for a bite of food, then back.  That trail is pretty flipping awesome, save the current construction.

The run is Sunday (9/27) at 8:30am.  Fortunately they finished all the river trail construction and cleanup yesterday.  We'll still run by some road construction barrels along parts of Michigan Ave. but it'll be a great course and looks like the weather will be great too.

Wait you were where?  DeWiitt is 15 minutes from my home and no phone call?  No invite to ride?  Awe, I'm hurt.

Sorry buddy.  I totally would have called, but I was visitng a friend from out-of-town and her parents.  The ride was 30 miles with her 68 year old dad...totally laid back and I was a guest on their trip.  Next time, tho, I promise!    I need to make another date with Sweetie Pie!

Glad you had a good time!

So how did everyone do at the River Run?  We had beautiful weather!

I finished with a PR at 1h37m for a 7:26 pace.  I'm pretty stoked.

I had a horrible day and finished over the 2 hour mark.  I have 20 days to figure out what went wrong before the full in Detroit.  Cry
