Looks like IMLOU message board may have some competition this year  I must say I am a little intimidated by the IMWI bike course. I have spent the past year prepping for IMFL and I am pretty good at the flats now. I have done very little hill training and am not quite sure how you pace a constantly rolling course like IMWI. Oh well, guess that is one more factor to add to the experience. Happy Sunday everyone! |

I will drive the 7hours and ride it.... since its the summer and all!!!! and having the time off in the summer I am going to take advantage of that! I believe training on it, gives an advantage! Anyway it was so so so much fun! Hope everyone has a good off season!

Master 1376 Chicago | Subject: RE: Ironman Wisconsin : Official Thread I live in Chicago and it only takes me 2 - 2.5 hours to get up there. I plan on riding the course several times next year. I'm in for any group rides and if anybody from Chicago wants to go up there let me know. I'm also planning on doing Horribly Hilly 100 and Dairyland Dare as a portion of those rides are on the course. |

I live in Minnesota; about an hour north Minneapolis which translates to about a 6 hour drive for me. I definitely would like to do it again, at least once before race day. It would be fun to get a group organized. |

So excited to go home for ironman but I definitely need to find some hills to train on. Just finished up augusta and I'm taking some time off after a long run to IMCDA in june. debating on boston but I'm not sure I want my season to be that long. April is pretty early for a marathon with IMWI in september. Looking forward to getting to know everyone and meeting everyone next year!mattb1- we are on the same schedule! |

I plan to gear up the training in May sometime....might coincide with a build towards Memphis in May and then build from there... Having done a few of these now, i kind of have the luxury of knowing where I need to be base-wise coming out of winter which makes for a relatively reduced-stress build period. I am going to try to get a group together for an "UBER-bike" weekend that will include some riding of the course as well as the "Dairyland Dare"....the timing of this organized ride is pretty optimal for IMMoo folks to get in a killer bike build weekend...... Extreme Veteran 427 St. Louis, MO | Subject: RE: Ironman Wisconsin : Official Thread I promise to post here when I get the plan together that revolves around the Dairyland Dare weekend.....for planning purposes would you all prefer to ride one loop of the IMMoo course on Friday before the Dare or Sunday after the Dare......I will have a decent length drive home afterwards so I am leaning towards doing the IMMoo loop on fresh legs Friday..... Thoughts?? I am also thinking of volunteering for IMKY and riding the bike course there and doing a light run on Saturday....any interest in that?? Paul |

Like Kristin said it was alot of fun and it is a great training tool for IMOO. It usually sells out very fast, as in a few hours after it opens if I remember correctly. |

I did HHH in 2008 and it sold out in a manner of hours. Be prepared to log on as soon as it opens to try and register. The Dairy Land Dare is similar and also on parts of the IMWI course and it is just as hilly as HHH. It is on August 14th 2010. That may be a good ride as one last long ride before tapering. Dairyland usually doesn't sell out. |

I did the Dare this past year, and it is a great ride, but there a several parts on the route that are gravel and on unpaved roads. I saw at least a dozen riders go down during the ride. I heard that a couple people were taken away in ambulances. I'm (probably) in for the Dare again in 2010, I would just hate for people to think its just an easy organized ride 4 weeks before IMWI, get hurt and ruin their chances at Madison.
