Last night's GFS (00Z) run has the front moving through early on the 29th with return flow on Halloween. Temperature forecast (2 meter temps) upper 40s for the morning low and upper 60s for the high.



Well it is still too early, but upper 40's is really nice.

12Z GFS is back to a frontal passage the morning of the 29th with sunny/cool weather for the 31st. Maybe temps in the mid 60s for late afternoon, falling into the upper 50s during the evening. That would be about perfect weather for the evening events

Well....it still looks cool. So far. Still a little ways out.

Halloween Forecast: Who knows. The models are flipping so much, no one knows. They really will not know until two to three days out. Goodness.

I'd argue that the GFS has been all over the place. Take a look back at my posts of its predictions for Halloween. Sunny/cool one run with the front coming through the 30th and warm/wet the next, with return flow after a frontal passage the 28th. No two consecutive (00Z-12Z) GFS runs have had the front coming through even on the same day.

Yesterday's 12Z GFS had the front through on the 30th with sunny/cool weather the 31st. The 00Z run brings the front through late on the 28th with return flow and rain for Halloween.

That's why I said we won't have much confidence in the forecast until maybe the middle of the week.
