PS....I'll introduce myself to the team...I have been on a team before with about half of you already I think!!! Haha.

I'm Melissa. I'm currently in my first year of med school at the University of Alberta in Edmonton...I turn 22 on October 17...which is a Sat night...but I am currently planning on doing a 10mile road race on the 18th...so maybe no partying that night?? haha...I started tri-ing in Jan 2008 and my bike's name is Kona (very original I know)...and Kona is currently better than I am...Finished a race today...doing a team relay next week...run-bike-run...I'm the bike leg...(I know its run month....but I claimed the bike leg a LONG time ago...much to the sadness of my 2 other team members...but I told the guy that he has to suck it up and run fast to get a lead because we are a 2girl-1 guy co-ed team rather than a 2guy-1girl co-ed team...haha...sucker...

Anyways I`m rambling....YAY TEAM!!!!!

Do we come up with a spooky name??

Hi everyone,

I know a few of you from the September challenge and looking forward to meeting the rest.

I am brand new to all of this.  A friend who did her first tri  in August convinced me to train for next summer.  To my shock, I am loving it!  Maybe this is my mid-life crisis?  LOL

Since I am trying to build up some stamina jogging, this will be a good challenge month for me.

GO TEAM #3     --definitely need a better name  Undecided

WooHoo!  I love it when the team thread gets chatty days before the challenge starts.  And it's great to be back with some teammates from earlier challenges.  I kind of slacked off over the summer (training and posting) so I'm looking forward to getting back on track.

For those who don't know me, I'm Debbie.  I just finished my first tri season and I'm totally in love with the sport.  It's been a crazy year for me.  Over the summer my family left NJ for the wilds of upstate NY, and I gave up a job in finance (which I hated) and I'm now a self-employed yoga teacher.  Training kept me sane.  What does that say about me?  Embarassed

Oh, and I hate running.  But I want to do a half-marathon, so maybe I don't.  Undecided

I gave myself a couple of weeks off from training after my last tri, but I'll be ready to go again first week in October.  I'm starting a half-mary plan so I'll be ready to try one in the spring, so the challenge is perfect timing.

Hey Neal, are we going to talk about food all month?  Laughing

Morning everybody.  Having a great start to a Sunday.  Slept in a bit then went to Y for a short swim.  Followed with a bagel & coffee then a trip to the farmers market.  Rain has stopped and soccer is on for this afternoon.  Nice.

Glad you had a good run.  Today I plan a bike ride  --  but I am not sure how long.  I am only 6 weeks into training so I am still feeling my way forward.  But having lots of fun !!

Hi I am Tammy!  I know a few of you from past challenges, I look forward to getting to know the rest of you.  I got into triathlons as I am a swimmer first and as an alternate exercise I rode a bike.  I always wanted to be a runner(they were always the coolest in High School), but was never good at it.  I figured if I had two out of the three disciplines why not.  Turns out I am a better runner than cyclist!

My challenge for this month will be increasing the run.  I love to run, but I rarely run beyond three miles.  This month I hope to have at least 4 runs beyond 6 miles or so(I have to look at my logs).

Can't wait to get started!

kcarroll - 2009-09-26 12:21 PM Afternoon everybody.  I know many of you and look forward to meeting the rest.  I'm Kim and hope to keep up with what looks like a chatty team.  I have a half marathon in November, so this challenge will help keep me on track for my training.  I had a minor knee issue earlier this month but am back on track...ran a little over 6 this morning...but that get's logged in the Sept challenge.

Great weather here in NJ so going to get outside for the rest of the day.  Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Hi Kim!  2 months in a row!

disturbed275 - 2009-09-26 8:40 AM I'm Neal.  I have a marathon on the 4th and will be taking some time off afterward.  I should resume running by the end of the month, possibly doing a 10k or a half the last weekend of October.

Hey Neal!  Glad to be on a team with you again!  That marathon is coming up soon!  Are you ready?

Ready and excited.  Run training has been going extremely well.  I just need to figure out what sort of pace to shoot for.....

Is that all I talk about?  Say it isn't so   Actually I plan on cleaning my diet up a little once the off season hits so I will probably only be posting about the things I WANT to eat.

Anyway, it's good to see you back around the challenge forum.

I did my last tri of the year this morning.  Quite sad really.  I went out with a bang though, shaving 10 minutes off my time from last year.  I'm was thrilled with that.
