so I noticed earlier last week(9/22ish time frame) that i developed a case of the sniffles/stuffy nose.  I was wondering if you guys thought this could be a early sign of over training? I also started school this past week and i haven't been sleeping as well or as much these past few weeks.  thanks guys in advance for your help and time.

Well, you don't keep logs on here so it's hard to say. I would guess that you are not overtraining. It's allergy season as well as cold and flu season, so it could be one of many things. Just make sure you're getting a good amount of sleep and drinking lots of water and eating healthy. If you start to feel sick or run down, don't hesitate to take a little break from training.

Whenever I feel myself starting to get sick, I dramatically cut back the training for that week or take the entire week off to recover. I'd rather take that 1 week off than take the last 5 weeks off that I've just done because of a chest infection.

This is the training plan i have been following it is pretty much the same plan as the 2x balanced 16 week plan.  I am currently in the 6th week of training.  i have never been affected by allergies before i have been cycling for a few years and payed baseball when younger.

beginnings or cold, flu, or just allergies. Try a claritin and decongestant. Sleep has been linked to immune response on many occasions. Make sure you get enough sleep.
