Pre-race routine:

Drive downtown, park and walk to meeting spot. My team has dwindled in numbers this year, but not in spirit.

Event warmup:

Stand around and wait for them to stop registering walk ups so we could start. Hung out with Trainergirlmick and her son Jack, my brother Jeff, a good friend Jeff and Lunatick.

Comments:

Ran with Ryan today. He was getting tired just standing around. Sooo many people at the start it was hard to get around them. We went Cross Country style and ran on the grass just so we could get out of the thick of it. Walked when RJ needed to, ran most of it and when we finally saw the balloon arch Ryan decides he's not so tired and goes into a full sprint with about .2 of a mile to go. Nice way to finish. Enjoyed my time with him. Tried not to be one of "Those" parents and push him too hard. Want him to like doing these things.

What would you do differently?:

Nothing. Beautiful sunny morning spend with family and friends. What more could you ask for.
