Total Time = 1h 33m 7s
Overall Rank = 62/111
Age Group = 20-24
Age Group Rank = 8/11
Pre-race routine:

Woke up, had some pop tarts, took a shower to loosen up and relax, ate a powerbar, packed up the car and off I went!
Event warmup:

went out for a 4 mile bike ride, took a short jog later. About 20 minutes before my swim start swam a few laps in the diving well.
Swim
  • 10m 47s
  • 500 meters
  • 02m 10s / 100 meters
Comments:

So I told myself that I would just take the swim nice and easy and not take off too fast. Started the swim and went nice and easy like planned. Felt like a fish in a small tank going back and forth, back and forth, back and forth.
What would you do differently?:

Go harder, but that is the offseason plan!
Transition 1
  • 01m 7s
Comments:

Transition was smooth, a little longer than what I wanted but it was still good. I grabbed little red x aka black betty, jumped on and took off for the rolling hills and manure piles that is Whitewater
What would you do differently?:

not go as slow??
Bike
  • 43m 33s
  • 13.7 miles
  • 18.87 mile/hr
Comments:

There were some small hills but nothing too horrible. The headwind and gusts made the bike really tough! Unfortunately most of the course seemed to be into the headwind! I was planning on just hammering the bike, would have worked if it hadnt been for the wind. Overall the bike went pretty well.
What would you do differently?:

Tell mother nature to not have a constant headwind? Hammer harder!
Transition 2
  • 01m 24s
Comments:

Came into t2, and jumped off the bike, ran to my spot, threw the shoes on, and took off
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Run
  • 36m 18s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 11m 43s  min/mile
Comments:

Well, this was my first cross country run experience.....to say the least it was interesting! After about the first half mile, my calves began to get tight and cramp. Took some time to walk and stretch them out and began running again. This course was all over the place, up and down and all around. I definitely need to get some more experience running off road!! The calves were hurting pretty good due to the off roadness of the course, so I ended up walking a lot of the course.....boo!
What would you do differently?:

Run more and get more experience on the cross country courses.
Post race
Warm down:

Grabbed some food, took a nice walk around to cool off and relax. I was going to get a massage but some lady decided it was cool to lay down and take my place......

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Running off road kinda threw me for a loop and was tough!

Event comments:

Good race, Im sure I will be doing the early bird and late bird next year!
