Pre-race routine:

Augustino's in the lobby for dinner the night before, great pasta toss. Meet Greg and Laura Bennett.
Up at 4;45am, coffe and a lite protein shake to hold me over til later as I didnt start til 8:54am and wanted to eat again after setting up transition.
Event warmup:

No warm up at all, unless you count the 10min walk to swim start from the Marriott.

Good swim, love the current and wetsuit. took a full 16mins off my Fla 70.3 swim time from May...awsome to see 28:28 exiting the water.

Not to bad...long run after the swim, otherwise suit came off good and shoes, sunglasses, helmet on was good.

Maybe a bit more then I wanted on the HR but felt good all day with good power and legs, headwind pushed up the HR in the homeward leg but overall a good ride.

Great run from start to finish. Set a good pace and was able to keep it there. Soooo much nicer then Fla 70.3 run. almost a FULL min per Mile faster...sweet.
What would you do differently?:

Would LOVE to go under 2hrs in next 1/2.

Warm down:

Waled a bit then catght the bus back to tranition to pack up my stuff, light gear ride back to the hotel, quick shower then abck to the finishline to wait for the wife.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Thanks Jeepguy and Capt for the props. I had a BLAST all weekend. Staying at the Marriott really made thing eaiser. There again next year for sure. Glad the bike route info helped. We were laughing, It seemed bumpier then when we rode it back in july at 15.5mph...lol
Thinking about Rock-N-Rollman and Augusta as my two 1/2's next season, But with the new ride next season, really starting to thinking about the big prize, a Full...maybe Fla or Louiseville 2011?

Heres a cool pic of my wife and I with the Bennett's just after Ann finished. They were so nice and rally liked talking triathlon and about the race...very cool.

thanks for all the congrats. Really excited about all the new 70.3 announced. Miami 2011? also thinking a FULL in 2011 also. Now that I have a rocketship ride for next season.

Nice job. Were you the guy next to me in transition that gave me sports beans after the race? Either way, I parked near your car parked by the rowing club during bike check in. I saw it in some other thread where you posted a pic.
